Singapore, Oct 20, 2011 – Carrie K. today celebrated the opening of the Carrie K. Atelier: its new work space and showcase. The Singapore jewellery brand also announced a new capsule range just in time for Christmas. Called Cocktail Bling, this series of rings is inspired by the designer’s favourite cocktails and celebrates flaunting one’s favourite tipple during the festive season.
Celebrating a New Home
The new Atelier, a showcase as well as a design and production space for Carrie K. designer and founder Carolyn Kan, offers a venue to view new and existing offerings. With the demand for custom jewellery growing, Carolyn also wanted to give clients a centrally located space for consults and discussions.
“I designed the space to feel as much like a home as a workspace” said Carolyn. “I often bring my three dogs to work - they are our welcoming committee. When guests visit, they are coming to the home of Carrie K. - not just an office space.”
Open to the public on Saturday afternoons, the Atelier will also host quarterly showcases – providing an additional platform for talented independent designers and artisans to show their work. Events will be announced on Carrie K.’s Facebook page.
“In a world dominated by the same big labels that are available in every country, I have always sought out unique, independent designers and artisans,” Carolyn added. “The quarterly showcase events will make it easier for artisans to connect with like-minded people who love unique and well-crafted things – whether jewellery, home ware, or even furniture and art.”
Celebrating the Festive Season with Cocktail Bling
Carrie K. is also announcing extensions to its MINT collection with a new Cocktail Bling range: a light-hearted, tongue-in-cheek capsule series of rings for people to flaunt their cocktails of choice this Christmas season. They’re inspired by the American Prohibition and the grand parties of a bygone era – such as those portrayed in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby.
Available in a choice of five “cocktails”, they reflect the designer’s favourite tipple. This range also marks the designer’s first foray into Swarovski crystal. The rings are sterling silver and plated with Black Gold. They come in Sangria, Kir, Black Russian, Bellini and Mixed Cocktail – each in the colour of their namesake. To be worn “loud”, they can be stacked or worn with multiple rings on one hand.
Celebrating Easy Gift Giving
To make shopping even easier this Christmas, Carrie K. Collections will offer Drive-by Shopping from December 12th to 23rd. Shoppers merely need to select and pay for items at www.CarrieKRocks.com, and Carrie K. Christmas Elves will call back with a purchase confirmation. Purchases will be ready for collection at the Atelier an hour after.
