Extends collection inspired by humble, everyday objects, new pieces to showcase at Keepers IX: A Celebration of the Unexpected Singapore, 12 August 2013 – Silent heroes in everyday life, objects like thread, nuts and bolts, and safety pins often go unnoticed by most. To Carrie K. Artisan Jewellery’s Carolyn Kan, these humble items are often the inspiration behind her playfully provocative designs.
With new pieces that cast a new eye on what seems ordinary, Carrie K. Artisan Jewellery today announced additions to its REBORN and Leather collections. The collections will be showcased on August 31 at the upcoming Keepers IX: A Celebration of Unexpected Possibilities.
“Sometimes it’s the simple things that are of the most value in our lives,” says Carolyn Kan, founder and designer of Carrie K. Artisan Jewellery. “I wanted to reincarnate these objects into covetable jewellery, and challenge the norms, reinventing what usually is deemed mundane.”
From the humble piece of thread: REBORN:
Carrie K.’s popular Forget Me Knot rings now have new companions: ear studs, necklace, cufflinks, and stackable bangles. This collection features the classic double knot inspired by the old tradition of giving oneself reminders by tying a piece of string or thread around one’s finger. Perfect for everyday wear, the new, playfully elegant Forget Me Knot pieces are available in Yellow Gold, Rose Gold, and Silver.
Introducing: Nut & Bolt from Leather collection:
New to Carrie K.’s Leather collection are Nut & Bolt leather bracelets. Inspired by the strength and support provided by the humble nut and bolt, Kan has translated the tools into woven leather bands connected by a nut and bolt clasp. Available in seven colours and a Nut & Bolt clasp finished in Silver, Yellow Gold, or Rose Gold, the Nut & Bolt leather bracelet make perfect arm-candy for both men and women.
